Michael Opincar, who is known around Rise as Coach Opi, has been with coach Kevin since the inception of Rise and is a co-founder of everything we are. He is the Recreational Gymnastics Director at Rise and an integral part of our cheer prep program, fitness program, and serves as a competitive team coach. He has had his Pro Card from United States Gymnastics for 10 years. Before any of that matters, Micheal is a husband to Haley and a father of some incredible children, and they are his world.

Michael is a 3-time Texas High School State Champion in artistic gymnastics and holds multiple state records including being awarded the first perfect 10 on vault in Texas High School Male Gymnastics history.  He was an All-American Cheerleader in 2015 and National Champion runner up with San Angelo Central Cheer. He won 3 Texas championships in Elite Power Tumbling and retired as a Senior Elite Power Tumbler. While he is known to be the greatest tumbler in San Angelo history, these accomplishments mean nothing compared to his faith in The Lord, Jesus Christ.

Michael and Coach Kevin, who is his mentor, big brother, and best friend are truly brothers in faith and lead RISE based on not just their extensive resumes but unashamedly by their faith.

His call and gift is to inspire children, to love them unconditionally, and keep them from the path of destruction that he once endured himself. All praise be to the One True Living God, Jesus Christ.
